Warrigal is excited to announce the construction of a new community village at 10 Bradman Ave, Lake Illawarra. Starting next month and expected to be completed by early 2026, this 18-month project will create a high-quality, community-focused living environment for retirees.
Warrigal is excited to announce the commencement of construction for a new community village at 10 Bradman Ave, Lake Illawarra. Set to begin next month, this project is estimated to take 18 months* with an expected completion by early 2026. The development promises to deliver a high-quality, community-focused living environment for retirees, aligning perfectly with Warrigal’s vision and purpose of ensuring older people live their best lives, on their terms.
Warrigal CEO Jenni Hutchins expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to commence this new chapter, continuing our vision of creating vibrant and supportive retirement communities. Warrigal Lake South is designed to offer residents a unique and enriching living experience, combining quality living with accessibility.”
“Our residents will enjoy serene and scenic surroundings, complemented by a comprehensive range of amenities and services tailored to meet their needs. And with our continuum of care, residents will never have to move again, as they will have the opportunity to access services that meet their changing needs as they age.” Jenni continued.
The new Warrigal Lake South Community Village will feature 65 comfortable and spacious two-bedroom villas, each equipped with sustainable energy solutions through individual solar panels. The village will include a central community hub for social activities and gatherings, beautifully landscaped communal green spaces and gardens for relaxation, and environmentally friendly communal EV charging stations. Village residents will benefit from safe and convenient internal pathways with an internal roadway and pedestrian link.
In addition to the amenities and living spaces, Warrigal Lake South will offer a range of tailored services for eligible residents through Warrigal’s Home Services, including domestic assistance, transportation, personal care, and more. This comprehensive support ensures that residents can age in place with dignity and ease, accessing the services they need as they grow older.
Warrigal acquired the site in December 2010, with the development application being approved by Shellharbour City Council in August 2023. The building, formerly known as the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and part of the All Saints Catholic parish, ceased its religious use in the mid-2010s. After purchasing the site, Warrigal rented the building to U3A Wollongong for several years.
